We have a wide range of wonderful fresh flower arrangements in our shop everyday. We invite you to walk in, make your choice, and take them to your friend straight away.
But it is always more enjoyable for us and you when we can create something specially for your needs.

Drysdale's flower arrangements
At Drysdale's Florist there are a number of considerations when creating our flower arrangements.
First of all, where we have the opportunity to talk with our customer before beginning the arrangement, we like to understand some background information
The event or occasion that is being recognised
Of course, the flower arrangement to celebrate a birth will be very different from a sympathy arrangement… and different again from a romance related arrangement.
The environment and where the arrangement will be placed
Will the flower arrangement be… > in and office or at home > in the centre of a table > in an open space > in a more confined space up against a wall.
How much… > natural and artificial light will there be? > 'competing' colour will there be?
The recipient of the flower arrangement
The age and gender of the recipient influences the selection of flowers as preferences change over the years and what will suit an older lady may not be best for a younger lady.
With the above information covered where possible we then consider the more practical elements.
The first important consideration is the available budget. There are a range of flowers we can choose from and we can maximise your value when we know the budget.
The container may be determined by the environment it will be placed in and will, in turn, influence the size and shape of the arrangement.
Containers can include: > a vase > a paper wrap to eventually go into a vase > a pot > a decorative box > and other options. Just ask.
There is a wide range of shapes for flower arrangements and the shape and size are strongly influenced by the environment and the container. We consider the shape that will be best suited to the arrangement and the customer's wishes.
The more common shapes for flower arrangements include… > horizontal > vertical > triangular > oval > minimal > the 'S' shape.
Some people have colour preferences. Sometimes the light and or competing colour in the environment will influence the selection.
Flower arrangement filler
At Drysdale's Florist we are minimalist when it comes to filler. While greenery, for example, has it's place in a flower arrangement we do not like to pack the arrangement with filler preferring instead to fill every arrangement with wonderful fresh flowers.
Preparing the flowers for an arrangement
All of our arranging of flowers only comes after we have prepared the flowers appropriately.
We de-thorn our roses before we use them and we wire all our gerberas to ensure they do not droop.
The water that our flowers are in is kept clean and fresh by changing it regularly.
At Drysdale's Florist we care about our flowers and we care about our customers. Come in or give us a call. We'd love to help with any flower arrangement needs you may have.
